I had the opportunity to visit île de Gorée or Gorée island again. The last time I was there was actually November 2017, so it was nice to be back. Believe it or not, but I haven’t actually spent much time by the sea or in the swimming pool. Therefore, I decided to team up with Fadieye and visit île de Gorée. In my other blogpost about Gorée Island, I share a lot of pictures with less context. Today, it will be different! Let’s get into this beautiful, historic island 🙂(more…)
For the first time, I went to îles de la Madeleine. I have always seen the beautiful pictures, but I have never actually visited. When Fadieye invited me to join her to the islands, I did not hesitate! It was actually after #ELITE2018 that we decided to go to îles de la Madeleine to relax. We did not stay all day, but we definitely made it worth our while. Today, it will be different! Let’s get into this beautiful, historic island 🙂 (more…)
For the first time, I went to a natural hair event orgainized by Black n’Curly in Senegal! How exciting?! As many of you know, I am natural. Also, I find it important that black women get more educated about their hair. Furthermore, naturals should also contribute to the representation of black women and girls. Also, children should not suffer due to ignorance, in terms of perms, no edges and forever having a tiny ponytail lol. All in all, I definitely wanted to see how many naturals would come, and exchange with them. Just to let them know that I’m here too! Let’s get into this Black n’Curly hair event! (more…)
Earlier, I went to see T’étais habillée comment hosted by the Henriette Bathily women’s museum at Place de Souvenir in Dakar. It literally means “what were you wearing“. This pertains to the all-familiar question that people that deal with sexual assault get asked. As if the lack of clothing decides on whether or not you deserved to be assaulted or raped. T’étais habillée comment is one you have to walk through yourself and let me tell you, it is a tough one. All in all, was very confrontational and probably full of triggers depending on your experience. Let’s go through some of the victims outfits. TW: this post contains mentions of sexual assault and rape.
Last time, I took you out lunching at Resaurant Le Ngor. Today, however, we are eating FASTFOOD again! Haha, this time we will be eating at Miam’s Restaurant located at Liberté II. This is the first time I went eating at Miam’s. I went here with Youma to get some dinner. We were actually roaming around in her neighborhood when we spotted the restaurant. We decided to take a look and eventually ended up eating some fastfood there. Let’s get into Miam’s! (more…)
As you know, I am a Brand Ambassador for Lyvv cosmetics. Last week, Victorine Sarr from Lyvv asked me if I was interested in taking pictures and producing an IGTV video for the Lyvv launch at Lulu Home Interior & Café in Dakar. The Lyvv launch was last Saturday, and it was amazing! I was really in my element and was able to take so many pictures of truly beautiful ladies! Not only that, but I was also able to exchange with some fellow bloggers and Youtubers! Let’s get into this cool launch at Lulu.
Would you believe me if I told you that I’m a Brand Ambassador? Neither would I, especially if you would have told me that it would be for a cosmetics brand! Today, I want to share with you an amazing experience I’ve had here in Dakar. I mean, who would ever think to become a Brand Ambassador when all you did was take on the chance to be the face and model for a brand? Also, who would not want to know more about that story? I will tell you all about how I became a Brand ambassador for this cool cosmetics brand here in Senegal. (more…)
Last week, I attended and assisted during the program of my friend Fadieye called ELITE Senegal 2018. ELITE is an acronym and stands for Entrepreneurship, Leadership and IT Exchange. During one week, we had over 40 girls that study sewing at CAIF and gave them workshops and trainings in entrepreneurship and leadership. I told you in the last post: Twisted Talent designer, that that was it for ELITE Senegal 2018. I’m not sorry, but I still have some things to share with you: THE STUDENTS! I mean, there was an ELITE Fashion competition involved and I really want to share with you some of the designs. Even though it is not an exclusive post about Twisted Talent, we will definitely get yet another shot of talent! (more…)
