La Corniche Ouest

A popular spot in Dakar is La Corniche Ouest. I really love walking, so
I have walked on la corniche many, many times. First of all, la Corniche is super long. You could walk from just after the Monument of African Renaissance to Soumbedioune or even further. Once, I walked from Almadies to Sea Plaza. The weather was amazing!! I remember always driving on the corniche and finding it so beautiful, and I have always wanted to take beautiful pictures along the ocean. If I would tell Senegalese people I walked along the Corniche, they would think I’m crazy. Senegalese people don’t like walking lol. Let’s get into Dakar’s not so hidden gem! 🙂

île de Gorée

I had the opportunity to visit île de Gorée or Gorée island again. The last time I was there was actually November 2017, so it was nice to be back. Believe it or not, but I haven’t actually spent much time by the sea or in the swimming pool. Therefore, I decided to team up with Fadieye and visit île de Gorée. In my other blogpost about Gorée Island, I share a lot of pictures with less context. Today, it will be different! Let’s get into this beautiful, historic island 🙂

îles de la Madeleine

For the first time, I went to îles de la Madeleine. I have always seen the beautiful pictures, but I have never actually visited. When Fadieye invited me to join her to the islands, I did not hesitate! It was actually after #ELITE2018 that we decided to go to îles de la Madeleine to relax. We did not stay all day, but we definitely made it worth our while. Today, it will be different! Let’s get into this beautiful, historic island 🙂 (more…)

Expo: T’étais habillée comment?

Earlier, I went to see T’étais habillée comment hosted by the Henriette Bathily women’s museum at Place de Souvenir in Dakar. It literally means “what were you wearing“. This pertains to the all-familiar question that people that deal with sexual assault get asked. As if the lack of clothing decides on whether or not you deserved to be assaulted or raped. T’étais habillée comment is one you have to walk through yourself and let me tell you, it is a tough one. All in all, was very confrontational and probably full of triggers depending on your experience. Let’s go through some of the victims outfits. TW: this post contains mentions of sexual assault and rape.

This is the first time I went eating at Miam’s. I went here with Youma to get some dinner. We were actually roaming around in her neighborhood when we spotted the restaurant. We decided to take a look and eventually ended up eating some fastfood there. Let’s get into Miam’s! (more…)

As you know, I am a Brand Ambassador for Lyvv cosmetics. Not only that, but I was also able to exchange with some fellow bloggers and Youtubers! Let’s get into this cool launch at Lulu.

Twisted Talent Designer: ELITE Senegal 2018

Twisted Talent Designer: The Reyn x Adama ParisLast week, I attended and assisted during the program of my friend Fadieye called Elite Senegal 2018. ELITE is an acronym and stands for Entrepreneurship, Leadership and IT Exchange. During one week, we had over 40 girls that study sewing at CAIF and gave them workshops and trainings in entrepreneurship and leadership. Not only that, we had a guest speaker every single day. Meaning that every day, a designer came to share their experiences with us. How cool is that! The students had the opportunity to ask them all sorts of questions. Last post, I talked all about ELITE Senegal 2018, today, I want to share with you the cool Twisted Talent designers we’ve met during the event. Let’s get our next shot of raw talent!  (more…)
