Laos: Kuang Si Waterfall

img_3322This post is dedicated to the Kuang img_3389Si waterfall :). In my previous post, you could read all about my adventures in Luang Namtha. Please check that out if you have not done that already. I am so excited to take you on a trip through the Kuang Si National park.

Rescue Center & national park

When you walk into the park, the first thing you will see is a rescue center for bears. The Tat Kuang Si Rescue Center cares for rescued bears that have been illegally poached or traded and are currently under the care of the Laos government. The bears are Asiatic Black Bears, and they are actually very active and fun to watch. There are many ways to support the rescue center, for example, buying souvenirs or making a donation.

img_3338Next, you have to walk a bit to the waterfall. The reason being that there are multiple levels to the waterfall. The waterfall is so beautifully clear blue and when you are there, the sound of it is so peaceful and satisfying.img_3347 I loved it so much.

Honestly, you’d think that it would be a great place to swim.. however, I have to tell you guys that this water is freaking cold! My friends did go in to swim, I did not. I was too busy taking pictures from all the angles and enjoying the view. Which payed off, look at this place!

Of course, there is no point in visiting the Kuang Si waterfall if you do not decide to go all the way up. Which we decided to do. I have to say that the walk up there was hard, due to the fact that we climbed through the woods (steep and slippery) instead of taking the stairs… but we made it (thank God). The pictures below will show you how beautiful it was up there. I still think that it was amazing to experience the Kuang Si Waterfall in Laos, it was very beautiful (as you can see), and I recommend it to everyone that goes to Laos!
