Welcome to a long-awaited blog about my birthday trip to Fuerteventura, Spain. My previous blog was all about Daffie Be Proud products and I showed you my wash day. In this blog I want to share some more about my trip to the beautiful Fuerteventura. Although I have been to Spain many times to catch my second flight to Senegal, this was my first time actually enjoying the country. I really enjoyed my first trip to Spain and it was very refreshing to visit my cousin and her family. Let’s get into my birthday trip to Fuerteventura!
I bought a drone!
Before I went to Spain, I actually contemplated the idea of having a drone. Eventually, my friend bought the drone the day before I left for Fuerteventura. Right before leaving, I had a mild version of the coco and it felt more like a cold. I was very happy about recovering right before traveling! Because there was no way I would travel while sick, but at the same time you don’t want to cancel your trip! On top of that, I was super excited about having a drone to up my vlogs and make them more interesting for my viewers. The drone I bought was the DJI Mavic Mini Fly More Combo. I definitely recommend this one because it comes with 3 batteries that together become a powerbank!
Fuerteventura, Spain
Like I said, it was my first time actually being in Spain and I went to spend my birthday together with my cousin who has her birthday in the same week. My cousin actually moved from Senegal to Fuerteventura about two years ago with her husband and son. She was very happy that I wanted to visit, since she hasn’t been able to see family due to the panini. I was very excited about visiting my cousin and still having that sense of being in Senegal with her. Mostly, because I have only seen my cousin in Senegal and we speak Wolof and French. It was nice to have that since I also haven’t been to Senegal in almost three years (!!).
My birthday
My birthday was February 12th and this year I actually spent a quiet birthday. I was already happy about being able to travel to a new destination and the fact that I spent my birthday with family. During the day, I hung out with my cousin and her son. We made delicious food, we even got a chocolate cake (my favorite) and that evening we actually went to the shopping mall! Something I LOVED about Fuerteventura, was that the mall was open until midnight. Here in the Netherlands, stores close at 6pm and depending on your town, shopping centres are open until 9pm once a week. To be able to visit the shopping mall after dinner, was great.
Caleta de fuste
A great spot I visited on Fuerteventura was caleta de fuste, a resort town on the island. The resort town has golf courses and a private beach. My cousin and I walked many times along the shore and were able to enjoy a beautiful view. I also think I took my best drone shots from caleta de fuste. You can see for yourself below!
What else?
As you can see, I had an amazing time in Fuerteventura with my family and my new-found friend (the drone). In my next post, I will tell you more about my next trip! This time I am going a little further than Spain and we’ll end up in Portugal! Enjoy the other Fuerteventura vlogs and let me know if you have any questions!
