Polette Party in Amsterdam

Hello guys!!

In my previous post, I talked about what I have been up to for the past year. If you missed that one, you can read it here. However, I forgot to mention that in May, I went to the Polette Party in Amsterdam! Soooooooo, I can hear you guys ask me: “what is Polette anyways?” Well, Polette is specialized in eyewear! As some oimg_3981f you may know, I wear glasses and lenses… and I was really interested in Polette when I saw one of my “friends” on Facebook modeling for them. That is how this lovestory began.

African Business Day 2016

Hi guys,

A few months ago, I went to the African Business Day in Rotterdam, the 13639721_1132902093449483_1194392998_oNetherlands at the Erasmus University. I was actually contemplating whether or not to write a blogpost about this event. And I honestly think that it is important to do so (even though nobody reads my posts)… I think it is important for me to reflect on the things I have experienced and share that “I aspire to inspire others by sharing my experiences” right?! HearWord Naija in Amsterdam!

Hi People!

I hopeIMG_5399 everyone is doing fine. I know I have not been blogging for a very long time and to be honest, writing this blog post has shown me how much I actually miss it. In other words: I will be blogging more often!

In this blog post, I would like to share with you this amazing experience I’ve had. Last Saturday, a good friend an I went to a performance act called HearWord, by Nigerian women. #HearWord is a Nigerian expression that means to hear, but also to listen. The act is very touching as it is about the realities that women face. However, the beauty of th eplay is that even though it has an African, Nigerian, narrative, all women are able to relate to the situations. As said on their website, the play was focused on all the things in life that women come across that limit their potential for achievement, independence, decision-making and leadership. On top of that, they were also able to give perspectives across a variety of socio-economic levels. In other words: this was a true masterpiece. (more…)

Exchange Semester in Berlin

HoIMG_0754w have you guys been? I hope everyone is fine J. As some of you know, I went to Senegal in January and March was the month I was going to Germany for my semester abroad.  I am already in Berlin for over a month, but I have not been able to post updates about my actual stay in Berlin… But today is your lucky day! Lol, not really.  Before I will tell you and show you about my stay in Berlin, I want to apologize for slacking lately L. I am really, really, really sorry!

Paris in December

How have you been doing? Good, I hope :).
It has been quite a while since I posted or shared anything with you, and I am sorry for that! I have been very busy with school, preparations for my semester in Berlin and of course, I went to Paris!

Yes, last thursday, I went to Paris. I had to wake up super early in order to catch the train at 6:18 that would take me from Amsterdam to Paris Gare du Nord, where I arrived around 10. The first thing I did was buy some tickets for the subway. I accidentally bought 10 subway tickets woops! I already had an idea of what places I wanted to visit and I was so happy to be reunited with the city of love! Check out further to see how my day in Paris looked like :).

Africaworks! Conference 2014

The 201IMG_96374 edition of the Africaworks! International Business Conference was organized by The Netherlands African
Business Council (NABC) and the African Studies Centre (ASC). It was held on the 16th and 17th of october 2014 in Leiden, the Netherlands.

I really wanted to attend this conference so that I could explore my interests and maybe find possible internships! So, I had contact with the organizers at NABC and they offered me the opportunity to volunteer both days at the event. So, I did. I had the chance to hear a lot of inspiring stories and meet wonderful and inspiring people including: the Liberian Minister of Gender & Development, Julia Duncan-Cassell and Grace Kwinjeh, a journalist and women empowerment activist from Zimbabwe. I will summarize both days for you in pictures.
