First of all, HAPPY EASTER! Last time, I took you with me to the diverse Kabylie. Today, we are eating at Pergola in Dakar. The first time I went to Pergola was during my internship in 2015. Another intern at the time invited me to eat at Pergola, because her aunt and uncle run the place. From then on, we went more regularly. On Wednesdays, the restaurant offers the dish Méchoui. Since I’m back at Tigo, we usually go on Wednesday’s. Therefore, I really want to share with you our lunch at Pergola. Let’s get into the food!

Getting a Relaxer
In this post, we will talk about relaxing hair and getting a 
relaxer. I wanted to show you how to relax hair. Now, wait a minute.. I am not going to show you how I relax my hair or how I relax someone else’s hair. Because first of all, I am natural and I like having tightly-coiled hair :). Secondly, I have no desire to relax someone’s hair for the sake of a blog post. However, my cousin wanted to get a relaxer, and asked me join her. Of course, I was down. I have seen my cousins getting a relaxer many times before, and I enjoy watching the process.

Holding Up the Universe written by Jennifer Niven. Holding Up the Universe, is written from two perspectives. On one hand, you have Jack Masselin and on the other hand you have Libby Strout. They are both 16-year olds in Highschool somehwere in America. They have their own struggles and the story pertains mostly to how these two teens navigate through their own personal problems and their life in HS. For example, Libby was once named America’s Fattest Teen and has always been homeschooled, until now. Fancy wedding at Alkimia, Dakar
Today, I want to share another wedding with you. This time it is a fancy Senegalese wedding with a touch of Benin. This is the fourth wedding or so I attended! Last weekend, when Youma and I came back from the Superwomen Leadership Conference, her parents asked us to attend a wedding at restaurant Alkimia. Superwomen Leadership Conference 2018 by JEADER
Last weekend, I went to the Superwomen Leadership Conference 2018 organized by JEADER, which stands for Jeunes Entrepreneurs Africains + Leader. The Conference was at Novotel next to Ibis in downtown Dakar. It was my first time attending an event that focused on (super)women in Senegal. In addition, I heard that certain superwomen from Wakanda would be present. Which meant that I definitely wanted to attend. Obviously, it is pretty inspiring to attend an event for women. I have been to many events in my life, but they always give me a new source of energy. Some would claim it could be motivation, but I’d rather call it Vibranium mixed with #BlackGirlMagic. Last time I took you with me to lunch at All Fashion. Today, we are eating at Kabylie in Dakar. Kabylie is a restaurant that offers a wide range of foods and dishes. Since our office is not far from Kabylie, and we usually go when we are in the mood for junkfood. Let’s just get into the dish ok?!
High Tea at Aroma Coffee & Cake Dakar for Women’s Day
Last Thursday it was March 8th: International Women’s Day. The day begun with us all getting roses from the head of the department. We all got roses. : we all got roses! Which was sweet of him. The whole day was about celebrating women which was really cool. The head of the department invited us to Aroma Coffee & Cake at the end of the day. Welcome again to a new book-review for the Twisted Book Club! You can read my previous review on All the Rage by Courtney Summers. So, I recently read The Year We Turned Forty by Liz Fenton and Lisa Steinke. I also read The Good Widow by them, which I liked, but then also not because of the ending (eyeroll). However, I really wanted to read something else written by them. Then, I stumbled upon this one and of course: I loved it! The Year We Turned Forty is about Jessie, Gabriela and Claire, three best friends in their late 40’s who get the chance to change the outcome of their lives. Let’s get into this book!
