SNTWSTD in Mindelo, São Vicente (1/2)
Finally! The long awaited post about my trip to Cabo Verde or Cape Verde has arrived! Welcome to Part One of Mindelo, São Vicente in Cabo Verde. The only reason it took so long for me to publish was due to the fact that I have been publishing my #BLCKGRLinAsia mini-series about my trip to China, Laos and Thailand. I did not want to mix the separate adventures and decided to wait until I published my last episode last week. Please, do check out my #BLCKGRLinAsia-miniserie if you are interested!
So, early July, I went to Cabo Verde for the first time. I have always wanted to go, since I have been going to Senegal a lot in the past couple of years. Also, I have Cabo Verdeans in my family and Cabo Verde is our neighbouring country after all. In this post, I will tell you all about the beautiful city of Mindelo in São Vicente. Keep on reading!
SNTWSTD going to Cabo Verde
Yes! You read that right :). I am going on a family vacation to Cabo Verde and I am very excited! I am also excited to share my experiences in Cabo Verde with you.
We plan to first visit Mindelo on the island of São Vicente. We will stay in Porto Novo, the capital of Santo Antão, the island nearest to São Vicente. After a couple of days we will head back to Mindelo where we’ll stay for the remainder of our trip before heading back to Amsterdam.
Thailand: Hong Island
In my last post, I took you on my journey through the Jungle Tour. Since we had a great experience, we decided to do another tour. This will be the last post on my trip to Asia! But before it is over, I will take you with me on the Hong Island Tour. And, I have to say that it was by far the best thing we did in Thailand. The Hong Island Tour really brought out the beauty of beaches, water and nature in Thailand. I think I was able to take a lot of beautul pictures and I am ready to show them to you!
Thailand: Jungle Tour
In the previous post, you could read about Aonang and Raileh beach. In this post, I will take you guys on the Jungle Tour with me! Since we stayed in Krabi for about a week, there was so much that we could do. After having spent some days on Aonang and doing a trip to Raileh, we decided that these organized trips were not too bad. Therefore, we decided to do the Jungle Tour. The tour includes transport, a trip to a Hot Spring Waterfall, visiting the Emerald and the Blue Pool and finally the Tiger Cave Temple. Leggo!

Thailand: Krabi
After Chiang Mai, we continued our travels through Thailand with Krabi as our final destination. We took the night train from Chiang Mai to Bangkok. I have to say that it was so cool to take a night train from Chiang Mai to Bangkok, it was not really expensive and it was way more comfortable than expected. Unfortunately, we only stayed in Bangkok for one day. After this day, we went ahead and took a flight to Krabi. We eventually stayed about a week in Krabi, to explore the islands, beaches and to chill for the rest of our trip, before heading back to China. In this article, I will share with you some cool things we experienced in Krabi. Trust me, you do not want to miss out on the amazing pictures!
Thailand: Chiang Mai
After Chiang Rai, we were so ready for Chiang Mai. Therefore, when one of my friend’s friends offered to show us around town on the back of his scooter, we hopped on. We had the opportunity to do some fast sightseeing before exploring the city on our own. Stay tuned if you want to know more about Ladyboys, Chiang Mai and how we spent our time there.
Thailand: Chiang Rai
After spending about half a week in Luang Prabang, it was time to say goodbye to our friends and move on. We bought tickets for a night bus to Chiang Rai, Thailand. Even though we had to say goodbye to Laos, I had the pleasure to meet a family friend from home in Chiang Rai! What are the odds that someone you know from home will be at the same time/place about 6,000 miles away? This is what happened during my trip 🙂 Welcome to Chiang Rai!
